My Biggest crime is
1. I am Still ALIVE.
2. I am born in a family where every1 else except me is rich and I am a parasite who feeds on them.

Now thats its over, next is what?
The terror attacks on Mumbai are over now that most of the terrorists are dead and 1 of them captured. Now comes the time to think what went wrong? Where and how? (If only we want to avoid such attacks in future which I seriously doubt is the plan of our leaders and politicians).
1st of all - The question arises how did these guys get in to the country?
The coastal security is under question here and believe me the land and air area is not too secure either. We need to do a lot on these fronts so that we may not have such of an opportunity of postmortem of situations later and can be proactive.
2nd Question - How did these guys get into 5 star hotels with so much ammunition?
This is the BIGGEST security lapse. (And they check the good citizens as if they are terrorists). Believe me when we are checked at entrances of malls and multiplexes, I do feel like telling them "What do you guys do when terrorists enter these places and plant bombs and open fire? Where does your security measures and checking go then?"
Its shameful that such terror attacks keep happening and show the rest of the world how careless we Indians are when it comes to implementing security measures. Foreign nationals, celebrities, VVIPs all stay and spend time in these 5 star hotels which were made targets by the terrorists and if security measures at these places are such, you can imagine how safe a normal citizen in India is! And when I say I would love to stay in any other country people call me a "TRAITOR". Well if using common sense and thinking about your safety is labelled as being a traitor, I am more than happy with it. I would rather be a traitor than being an idiot Patriot. Patriotism does not mean you stay in your country just to die like this in terror attacks especially when you know the country is not ready to combat terrorism and you are not safe. I would term it as foolishness rather than patriotism (And people who say they would stay back and try and improve the nation are the ones who cannot migrate to another country because the SAD REALITY is yes any other country is safe, secure and better than India).
I mean the common people are more than ready to help. There have been cases worldwide where the Governments have appointed volunteers to help the police but here in India common man is the one who is more afraid of police rather than of terrorists. And mark my words, 50 years down the line India will still the same. Its time police personnel in India improve their image and get support from common people to combat such terror attacks. The Government (Which indirectly means the politicians) should stop talking and start acting. Its time we ACT and show them that YES EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE DOGS WHO RULE OUR NATION, THEY ARE THE ONES WHO CAN BITE AND NOT JUST BARK.
I sometimes feel its a waste of time writing all this because I know nothing will be implemented, but then this is my way of taking out all my frustration & who knows 1 day something might be implemented too.
A Very Disgusted,

Terrorism and the mobile internet.
For the 1st time I felt Mr. Bush did the "CORRECT" thing by declaring wars on Iraq & Afghanistan and killing those people who were responsible for the attack on America on 9/11 because of the attacks on Mumbai on Wednesday, 26th November, 2008.
We Indians have been attacked for years and are still attacked just because we have been a peace loving nation and have done nothing that is required to do in case of terrorist attacks. Its time we declare war against terror and wipe these terrorists out right from their roots i.e. Pakistan. Indians are attacked because every time the terrorists open fire and plant bombs, we come to our normal lives back after 2-3 days and do nothing to them, because we Indians are ruled by ASSHOLES who cannot do anything except paying their condolences to the dead and declaring the compensation for the families of those dead and injured. The maximum they do is visit the wounded in hospitals and then make sure they propagate against the other party and make it a political issue and gain mileage. These idiots will make statements on television channels and hold meetings saying that "strict measures will be taken. The terrorists will be dealt with in a severe manner and blah blah blah".
I mean come on if you guys want money to fight against terrorism, set up a National fund and I promise you that even though Indians may not pay their taxes regularly, they will surely pay money and make donations for setting up this fund and not only Indians every one from around the world would make contribution to this fund. But its time we give them a big blow right where it hurts the most like they have been doing and they will continue to do. This attack is regarded and is said as the "Biggest terror attack on India". Believe me if we do not do anything EVEN NOW, this attack will not be the "Biggest attack" for a longer time.
But yeah coming back to the internet part, twitter and flickr went buzzing around when these terror attacks happened. In fact I knew about it only when Dina twittered about it and believe me if we have more internet enabled phones like Blackberrys and others at least equipped with GPRS we can fight terrorism and make sure we are safe. Internet has global reach and messages travel at lightning speeds. Its time mobile internet gets its due and people understand its usefulness after such attacks. People who were trapped in these hotels also twittered, emailed and did other things on their internet enabled phone to make sure they remain in touch with the outer world. Also lets make sure we buy Wifi enabled phones so we have 2 options for accessing internet. GPRS and Wifi. And for that we need the infrastructure also like Wifi hotspots.
Terrorists have used internet to their advantage. Accessing emails from anywhere, sending emails through open Wifi connections and even more so its time we become technology savvy and use internet for our safety too. Use twitter , facebook , Instant messengers on Mobile phones to stay in touch with people. Fring , Nimbuzz are great options. Make sure we fight them with the same weapons they use to threaten and kill us. Internet is a weapon that we normal citizens should use for our self defense and its time we realize the need and usefulness of mobile internet because today mobiles are very common and India is the fastest growing country when it comes to mobile penetration.
I would sincerely request the manufacturers to come up with cheap mobile phones with internet access and service providers to make GPRS affordable to every one and the Government and the corporate sector to make sure we have the infrastructure like Wifi hotspots in our country to help common man combat terrorism with the help of mobile internet. Lets hope the situation gets normal as soon as it can. Yes almost 42 hours have passed and the terrorists still hold some people hostages. Hoping that everybody is safe and sound and that they get rescued soon.
With a Prayer in my heart,
H@rdeep.

My special email ids.
I still remember and use my 1st email id. On Hotmail. It was created 13 years back when Hotmail was world's only free email service provider. After that I guess my 2nd email id was on Yahoo. And I remember ever since Yahoo happened I made sure I stick to the same user id wherever I create a new email account and its been like that at most of the sites until I came on Myway where I got an email id with my 1st name "Hardeep".
So while it is very common that most of us do not get an email id with our 1st name on our favorite site and get the usual error message saying "This user id is already taken. Please choose another" with 5 of the suggestions, my way of avoiding it was to stick to the email id I had registered with on Yahoo and which I easily got on Gmail and more email sites (Yes I have quite a few email addresses and I love all the sites for various reasons). It went on until Myway and later on for this domain Live.com (where I got my 1st name again but on live.in) and this site which today makes me excited because that is 1 hell of an email id I have. Yup believe me this is like ultra cool and its called G.ho.st. G.ho.st - Your complete Virtual Computer (VC) in the browser, running the Global Hosted Operating SysTem from Ghost Inc.
So now I have a super cool id with my 1st name again and it feels good and also the fact that it has additional features like POP3/IMAP access and Email fetcher with built in POP3 and much more. Also I have amazing email ids which I would not divulge here because I am worried about spammers targetting them, but Yes I still am excited like a kid with all the email ids I have and I love my email ids though Gmail is my favorite because of the centralized hub it has become over the years and because of its features which no other webmail provides. And you know what?
While most guys would not create a new account on every other website that comes up, I would if It gives a "cool" quotient to my email id. LOL sounds childish but ya that's how I am And YES I refuse to grow up in this matter at least.

The Antakshari, wedding and more.
So Mr. Prashant Chandran was next and he got married on 24th November, 2008 to Miss Ritanjali Dhala who of course is now Mrs. Prashant Chandran. :)
This happened in a fun way and for the 1st time our parents and families met each other all because of the will of Mr. Prashant Chandran. I do not wanna blame the others for this but I can't resist praising him either. So I went to his home on 23rd noon and stayed back till 10.45 p.m. Almost like 8 hours. Had dinner there, played Antakshari and did a whole lot of fun things. 1 more guy in the group gets married but as he is a unique guy, so was his marriage. Nothing seemed routine or repetitive. For starters, the girl is someone we all know for years and we have even met her family, been at her home and all. No other guy who is married so far has such a wife who every one knew so well, in advance. No one had invited the parents of all of us (Sorry guys), no one did several other things the way Mr.Chandran did, and much more that happened for the 1st time.
I loved the fact that I already knew both of them. You can be yourself in situations like these and its so much fun. Pics and videos will be up soon. The "Mahurat" of "Bidai" was of late night. 1.30 a.m to 4.30 a.m so the next day was also affected a bit. The only thing that made me sad was the fact that I did not go in the pooja in the morning. I really wanted to and I just stayed in bed as usual but as they say all's well that ends well. I am happy for them. They make a cute couple. I wanna wish them a great married life ahead and ya blessings and good wishes are always there for these two lovely people. The time spent with both of them in all these years has been wonderful and I have very sweet memories associated with these guys.
A very Happy,

Side effects of Voice & Video Chat in Gmail.
Now this came as a surprise when I tried calling some one from my Google talk and I realized I can take calls on my browser too.
So Tringme, Groovytel and Truphone Call Me button for facebook (Which is discontinued now sadly) works on Gmail also besides Google Talk. WOW. Cool!!!!!!
And I have not tried this yet but I guess if somebody calls me from Google talk seeing me online I should be able to receive calls in Gmail too. As always Google amazes me positively. (Except that Lively was shut down).
LOL,

Dasvidaniya And Dostana
1 more movie related post. Bt heck who cares. So yeah mom and I went out for a movie today. It was supposed to be Dasvidaniya. A film produced by Vinay Pathak and of course the producer is the lead actor and I love this part so what follwed is something that "HAPPENS ONLY IN INDIA".
:) So when we reached the movie hall at 5.15 p.m which was the movie show timing, we found that its only 3 people in there. YUP just 3. Mom, me and 1 more guy. And we were waiting for the movie to start still but it was announce that some technical problem has occured and the movie wont be able to start, so we can get the refund of the money or can watch any other movie. While it was pretty obvious that the show is cancelled because of lack of audience, we decided to get the refund of the ticket money where the reason for show cancellation was confirmed as lack of audience and even the 5 Rs/- paid as parking charge. (Ya I mean why should I bear that much too)
And we ended up watching Dostana. Not bad. Just a time pass movie, but wait as this is in Bopal's City Gold, the lights went off while the movie was in the last 10 minutes and we had a halt again. LOL As I always say "THIS HAPPENS ONLY IN INDIA".

Why I Love Google and ALWAYS WILL.
1st things 1st. If people @ Google are reading this, They should seriously think of hiring me for their PR team. :)
Ok. So I have been a Google user since ages and I love them and everything that they do and every product & service that they have (either in public or Beta mode) and I use a majority of them, though I would love to use all. Blogger is my favorite blogging platform and since this is my most active blog, you know it already. What makes Google my favorite and favorite of people worldwide?
1. Its Google. YES the name is enough. Whatever they do, they do in style and keep it "FREE" for the end user.
2. They have branched out into every major service on web from just search and ruled everything that they offer today. How many companies can do that?
3. 1 user id and password gives you access to everything you wanna do on web. BEAT THAT any1?
4. Their products and services are clean. NO BIG ADs on Google talk, Google reader, Blogger, Picasa Web albums, Google Docs, Calendar or anything else. Chrome's interface is clean and simple too.
5. Interoperabilty of each product. For example latest is "Translate comes to Google reader" which means no matter whatever language the blog is in you can subscribe it in English. WOW. Just happened yesterday and believe me I wanted this for quite some time now.
6. Open Standards. Google Talk on XMPP standard. Every other software code available on Google Code which means amazing possibilities and exciting applicatiions made on them.
Now, talking about the things I use.
1. Google Search.
2. Gmail
3. Blogger
4. Google Reader
5. Orkut
6. Calendar
7. Docs & Spreadsheets
8. Photos
9. Jaiku
10. Google Talk (best ever IM)
11. Youtube
12. Grandcentral (In Beta. Invitations no longer available. Again the best ever VOIP service for FREE)
13. Picasa (both Software and online photo albums)
14. Google Groups
15. Google Alerts
16. Google Chrome.
17. Google SMS channels (India labs)
18. Igoogle
19. Google Earth
The Google Toolbar and Google Desktop are not that favorite of mine though I have used them for long now. But the above list pretty much everything you need on web. Of course there are services like Dodgeball, Google Sites, Zingku and many more which Google have acquired and not many people use. But believe me people are dying to get into Grandcentral which is absolutely the best ever FREE VOIP service by Google.
Now, why I love Google is that "innovation" never stops there. It seems these people and people at Fring never ever sleep or take rest.
The latest thing which I wanted again for quite some time has arrived. Video talk on Chat in Gmail. WOW. I mean no big deal because every other IM company does that but hey, these people did it in the browser. Google video and audio chat comes into your browser rather than on Google Talk and thats a world first for any email service provider just like they did many 1st things with Gmail. 1st email service provider to give 1GB free and then the space war started so today we have unlimited inboxes for free all thanks to Gmail guys and then 1st to integrate Chat in mail and AIM chat also. Many other 1sts came from these guys. (now since I told you earlier that guys at fring do not rest either, I am sure these people will make sure Video chat comes to Fring too for free). Also Gmail will have SMS soon. It came in labs & some bugs were found so they took it off with a promise to bring it back soon. And finally Google talk with a Dialpad and Grandcentral integration in both Google talk and Chat on Gmail cant be far either.
Open standards again is 1 thing which has made possible that Google products like Gmail, Google Reader and Google Talk become the most popular things. Firefox addons for Gmail and Google Reader can do evn wondeful things to Gmail. Xoopit for Gmail is my Favorite forefox addon. There is so much more that can be done with greasemonkey scripts and Google talk makes VOIP possible already with Gtalk2Voip, Tringme, Truphone, Groovytel all doing wonderful things on it all thanks to open standards.
I can go on and on and on and this post can be one of the longest post I have ever written but believe me I do not want to bore you guys and scare away my limited readers. So All I can say to end this is I ABSOLUTELY Love Google and I do not think Any company ever will be able to beat them on the things that they do. Keep working hard guys. We love the things you do.
Very Happy about Voice and video calls in Gmail chat,
H@rdeep.
