The terror attacks on Mumbai are over now that most of the terrorists are dead and 1 of them captured. Now comes the time to think what went wrong? Where and how? (If only we want to avoid such attacks in future which I seriously doubt is the plan of our leaders and politicians).
1st of all - The question arises how did these guys get in to the country?
The coastal security is under question here and believe me the land and air area is not too secure either. We need to do a lot on these fronts so that we may not have such of an opportunity of postmortem of situations later and can be proactive.
2nd Question - How did these guys get into 5 star hotels with so much ammunition?
This is the BIGGEST security lapse. (And they check the good citizens as if they are terrorists). Believe me when we are checked at entrances of malls and multiplexes, I do feel like telling them "What do you guys do when terrorists enter these places and plant bombs and open fire? Where does your security measures and checking go then?"
Its shameful that such terror attacks keep happening and show the rest of the world how careless we Indians are when it comes to implementing security measures. Foreign nationals, celebrities, VVIPs all stay and spend time in these 5 star hotels which were made targets by the terrorists and if security measures at these places are such, you can imagine how safe a normal citizen in India is! And when I say I would love to stay in any other country people call me a "TRAITOR". Well if using common sense and thinking about your safety is labelled as being a traitor, I am more than happy with it. I would rather be a traitor than being an idiot Patriot. Patriotism does not mean you stay in your country just to die like this in terror attacks especially when you know the country is not ready to combat terrorism and you are not safe. I would term it as foolishness rather than patriotism (And people who say they would stay back and try and improve the nation are the ones who cannot migrate to another country because the SAD REALITY is yes any other country is safe, secure and better than India).
I mean the common people are more than ready to help. There have been cases worldwide where the Governments have appointed volunteers to help the police but here in India common man is the one who is more afraid of police rather than of terrorists. And mark my words, 50 years down the line India will still the same. Its time police personnel in India improve their image and get support from common people to combat such terror attacks. The Government (Which indirectly means the politicians) should stop talking and start acting. Its time we ACT and show them that YES EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE DOGS WHO RULE OUR NATION, THEY ARE THE ONES WHO CAN BITE AND NOT JUST BARK.
I sometimes feel its a waste of time writing all this because I know nothing will be implemented, but then this is my way of taking out all my frustration & who knows 1 day something might be implemented too.
A Very Disgusted,
H@rdeep.
